The Amazon Guides on Formatting a book to Kindle do a great job, but still authors seem to have problems making it all work, particularly via the path of MS Word to Kindle.
The most common mistake is in NOT keeping it KISS Simple, and inserting "print" style formatting, despite all that is said in the Guides.
This book overcomes that confusion using the "picture is worth a thousand words" path, and leads the author through the whole process with some 60 screen shot images of the details of that process.
Book 1 confines itself to text only so as not to confuse the issue with the added complication of formatting images to Kindle [which will be covered in detail in Book 2].
NOTE - On 30 July 2011 Amazon made some more changes to the algorithms at Kindle for PC as well as the "Kindle Cruncher" itself, so after only a week or so we were forced to REPublish as Version 3, so please check on title page that you have Version 3.
THEN, we received requests from authors who had already DONE their book in Word but it turned out to be a Disaster once in Kindle, so we added Chapter 15 on how to Restore such books. So we are now at Version 4 as of 3 August 2011
But on 10 August, after an Indiana Jones style [npi] dig, we found the Style Ruler that we thought had been zapped by MS back in 1995, so we now have Chapter 16 and Version 5
This is Book 2 in the Series, The Bible on Word to Kindle, and deals with adding Images to your Kindle book.
In similar manner to Book 1 it explains step by step the instructions in the Kindle Guides, so that even newbies can enhance their books with Images.
And it also explains how to REPAIR a Word file with Images that simply "do not work properly" in Kindle.
